Phoenix copper’s chairman hired Lantern Comitas to increase his visibility in high-quality media outlets. He was particularly interested in meeting senior media personalities to promote the story of the need for copper in renewables and Electric Vehicles in particular.
For investor relations purposes, he wanted to build a network of ‘friendly’ journalists. He was not expecting immediate column inches, but took a long-term view.
We organised a series of one-to-one off the record lunches with high-ranking journalists from the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC, Reuters, The Spectator, SKY TV News and others. Several followed up the meetings with telephone interviews and the chairman was quoted in several high profile articles. We organised a panel discussion on strategic consequences of increased demand for copper in London with leading figures in the industry and media. This led to an even stronger public profile for the chairman.
